The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has decided to organise
Youth Parliament on L|FE is a platform for young people to discuss and debate on various
environmental aspects and come up with solutions to promote sustainable living. In
addition, it will also promote leadership, critical thinking, and teamwork skills among young
people. The overarching theme of the Youth Parliament will be 'lndividual Behaviour and
habits have an impact on environment and climate change'. The Youth Parliament on
LiFE is open to students of university and other institutions students from all over lndia.
Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 25 and must be enrolled in a university
or institutions recognized by UGC/AICTE.
The lndian lnstitute of Forest Management (llFM) has been asked to lead in organizing
the Youth Parliament and will be assisted by EIACP Nodal Centres identified for each
State/UT. The Youth Parliament will be organised at two levels viz. Stage I and Stage ll.
The Stage I event will be conducted by respective EIACP Centres identified for the
State/UT. The centre will conduct virtual debate competition/ Group Discussions at
University Level in each State/UT and will shortlist candidates as required against that
State/UT.
The stage ll event will be conducted by !!FM at Delhi among the shortlisted candidates
from each state/UT. The shortlisted candidates will compete in a mock parliamentary
debate in Delhi and about 150 of them will be selected to be MEYPs (Members of
Environment Youth Parliament)
